The Weekend that was

So many massive sporting moments happened over the weekend. Where does one start our weekly weekend rant about what happened over the weekend?

It’s pretty simple really, how can you go past Aussie Adam Scott winning the US Open. Scott became the ever Australian to win the US Open and this wins sees him jump to his highest ever ranking of number 3 in the world. Lets hope this is first of many major wins for Adam.

Ok, I know I keep going on about it, but how good is the Melbourne Storm going. Saturday night, the Storm faced Russell Crowe’s Rabbitohs. Both teams had started the Season with 4 straight wins and it really was the biggest game of the NRL in round 5. It really didn’t disappoint either with both teams putting on one hell of a great game. True to the Storms fighting nature, the boys dug deep and came away with another impressive road win, making them the only undefeated team in the NRL. Bring on ANZAC day for the Storms next big clash when they face the Auckland Warriors.

To the AFL now and lets just say the season hasn’t started the way we have all thought it would, I mean seriously did anyone really think that the Bombers, Port and Richmond would be in the top 4. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves though we’re only up to round 3.

Now we can go on about the whole James Hird saga or how badly the poor old Demons are going, but this time I decided to mention how good the Hawks played beating the Pies in the blockbuster game of round 3. The old piss and poo, put on a clinic and thrashed the pants of Collingwood. Let’s hope the Pies can bounce back and put on a better performance in the ANZAC blockbuster against the Bombers.

Of course we have to make a special mention to the greatest horse on the planet Black Caviar, after winning his 25th straight race. Can anyone win against this horse? We’re thinking fat chance.

A-League Semi Finals are over and the fairytale continues for the Western Sydney Wanderers. The Wanderers are headed to the Grand Final with a convincing win over the Brisbane Roar. In the other Semi, the Central Coast Mariners sure did give the Melbourne Victory a lesson in football. This sets up an exciting Grand Final, which we’ll go over a little later in the week.

How good are ladies that Skate? We think, pretty good.

Since we were talking about Adam Scott, how good is the Ana Ivanovic?
