Easter sports hangover

Well now that Easter is over, your all probably all partied out, so in case you missed out on the sports action that happened over the Easter break, here is our little update to catch up.

The AFL just finished there first round of footy and let’s just say there were a few surprises. Seriously, who would have thought the Gold Coast Suns would have beat St Kilda, certainly not us. Let’s hope that in the second round, our footy tips go a little bit better than it did in the first round.

De Souza wins Rip Curl Pro
Adriano De Souza from Brazil took out the Rip Curl pro at Bells Beach Tuesday afternoon. The event culminated in dramatic fashion with the young Brazilian claiming the first South American men’s title in the event’s storied 52-year history.

On Easter Sunday the Waratahs, dug deep and came up with a big win over the Force at Allianz Stadium. Former NRL and AFL player Israel Folau, came through with big game, scoring a try and having a hand in another. Folau is playing really well and he’s looking good to be putting on that Wallabies jumper when the British Lions get here later this year.

Chelsea gets one step closer in the FA cup, by beating Man U in the quarterfinals. Can they win the Cup 2 years in a row. It would be a bloody impressive effort if they do. But I’m sure Man City will have something to say about that when they face Chelsea in the semi final.

Sonny Bill Williams helped the Roosters smash the poor old Eels in the NRL on April fools day. Ricky Stuart (Eels coach) sure wasn’t seeing the funny side as SBW and the Roosters ran in 50 points to the Eels 0. Let’s hope the Eels can find that form they had in round 1 and give some other sides a bit more of a game.

Just in-case we haven’t mentioned it yet, we love the fact that the Lingerie Football League is finally back!

Oh yeah and it’s pretty sweet that the Netball is back too!
