It’s that time of the year where all the “closet fans” come out of the woodwork. It’s that time of the year where people who have no interest in it, suddenly get interested. Celebrities tweet their little hearts out, hash tagging this massive spectacle. Everyone has some sort of memory about it, whether they like it or not. This year marks the 30th anniversary of, Wrestlemania.
Everyone knows Hulk Hogan. This larger then life icon brought the world of Sports Entertainment, into mainstream media in the mid 80’s. Who doesn’t know the guy dressed head to toe in yellow and red, ripping his singlet and cupping his hand to his ear? At the inaugural Wrestlemania, Hulk Hogan joined forces with 80’s mega star Mr. T, as they took on the team of Mr. Wonderful and Rowdy Roddy Piper. Naturally the Hulkster and Mr. T won. I’m also positive everyone is familiar with the famous image of Hulk Hogan picking up and slamming Andre The Giant at Wrestlemania 3.
This how i remember Wrestlemania as a kid!
In the later years, the world was introduced to other names, everyone is now familiar with, whether they’re willing to admit it or not. Names like The Undertaker, Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, ‘The Heart Break Kid’ Shawn Michaels, Mankind and The Rock. All of these legends have moved on from the squared circle of coarse, well all bar The Undertaker. The Undertaker is an absolute legend and watching him over the years, I still get goosebumps when he comes out. This veteran only appears a few times a year now and his only real match for the year is at Wrestlemania. He holds the record of never losing at Wrestlemania, with his streak currently sitting on 21-0. I’m well aware it’s all an act and the winner is pre-determined but every year I still get excited about his newest challenger facing up to him and pushing him to the limits. This year he faces former UFC champion, Brock Lesner.
This year though, being Wrestlemania 30, it’s going to be a massive event! I’ve been counting down for months as I’m a big wrestling fan. Hey, it’s fun and entertaining. With it being such a massive event, we’ve decided to jump on the bandwagon as Big Boys Club and Schnitz n Tits join forces to put on a month long extravaganza called, Jelly Wrestlemania. In a true celebration of the WWE and Wrestlemania, our show is going to have everyone wishing they could attend the Super Bowl of sports entertainment as well as feeling like you’re at a better event with our Big Boys Club Jelly Wrestlers going at it like there’s no tomorrow!
On April 7th though, don’t try and contact me, as I’ll be screaming at the T.V. as I watch Wrestlemania 30!
In regards to Jelly Wrestlemania though,
“Whatcha gonna do, when Jelly Wrestlemania runs wild on you?!”
