This week former Australian Cricket captain Ricky Ponting released his autobiography, “At the close of play” and haven’t some heads rolled? Wow wee.

Former Indian Captain Anil Kumble has come out swinging in defence of former teammate, Harbhajan Singh after Ponting, questioned Cricket Australia’s stance on defending Andrew Symonds during the whole “Monkeygate” scandal. Kumble claims the real truth will come out when he releases his book in the future. How long do we have to wait? Is Kumble really trying to land a book deal off of one incident? Piss off Kumble!
Shane Warne has “surprisingly” come out and said things against Ponting as well, for things Punter said about current captain, Michael Clarke. Hey Warnie, as much as we love you for being a true Australian Legend, shut up! Claiming Ponting was jealous of Clarke’s success? Are you kidding me? Ricky Ponting is Australia’s greatest ever batsman, only behind one other, The Don. Warnie, pull your head in mate, show Punter the respect he deserves and stop showing your jealousy of him getting the captaincy over you in the first place! Move on and bring on the ashes!

Melbourne Cup day is one of Australia’s favourite public holidays and the race that stops a nation. Most of the day is spent perving on all the “dolled” up ladies in their pretty frocks and busting the moves on them as the take off their high heels and make the journey home. However, before it reached the long walk home point, something very important happened….
Fiorente won the Melbourne Cup! Trainer Gai Waterhouse, FINALLY has a Melbourne Cup up her sleeve. Damien Oliver, after a very interesting year, has his third. It does make you wonder though, was Robbie Waterhouse out the back, replacing horses and painting them so Oliver could fix the race? I’m kidding of course, just stirring the pot because it’s fun but it does make you think……

In other “exciting” news, the AFL fixture for 2014 came out this week and sure enough, there are many complaints from fans, presidents and the media. Who gives a shit where your team plays and on what day! Boo Hoo, your team has to play a team that finished in the top four this season. Some interesting news for you, if your team is good enough, they’ll beat whoever, wherever and at whatever time they play them. It’s not hard to work out. When the season comes back around, grab a beer and spread out on the couch to watch it! Oh and if you happen to have a bucks party happening that prevents you from doing this, don’t worry! All of the venues we use have footy playing and plenty of beers to sink!
