A final is still a final

This Friday see’s the grand final for the AFL pre season competition, the NAB cup. The 2 finalists this year are the Carlton Blues and the Brisbane Lions. While most of the AFL fans agree this doesn’t really mean anything, history kinda tends to disagree.

So the last couple of years both NAB cup finalists have made the finals of the regular season. This means a lot to the Brisbane Lions because they haven’t made the finals of the regular season since 2009, so you can bet that they are hoping that history is going to repeat itself, as do Carlton. The Blues are dying to do better this year and with the addition of their new coach Mick Malthouse, you can tell they are dying to win the NAB cup final and the big one, the AFL grand final.

Both 2 teams are both taking this game seriously. Carlton is bringing back AFL superstar Chris Judd and it is also the Blues new Captain, Mark Murphy’s first game as Captain, so you know the Blues are going to be fired up, with a pretty much full strength side.

The lions aren’t holding back either having Jonathan Brown fit and ready to lead his troops to victory. The Lions haven’t lost a game during the NAB cup, so if form is anything to go by, they are in with a really good chance to take the silverware back to bloody Queensland.

You can expect a high quality game of footy, so if your not doing anything this Friday night, we suggest you head on down to Eithad Stadium, grab a few beers in plastics cups and have a great night out at the footy. If your keen on having a punt too, put your cash on the Blues, we just can’t see the Lions wining this won.
